The file super-mario-kart-zx.zip has 3 files. Extract those files to a folder of your choice and then to play just run the executable! you don't need to do anything else.

Can the music only get faster by 5% instead of about 10% as it is right now? That would be more accurate to how the music is pitched in the official Mario Kart games.
Very great recreation, however, I personally would like to see more options. I very much dislike that core elements of the gameplay have been changed with no option to go back to how it was originally. Bring back coins, bring back the AI characters having unique items and sometimes cheating, let me toggle the blue shell and choose if want to be able to hold shells and bananas behind me. The physics also feel pretty close to the original but lack weight and feel floaty.
I enjoy everything else about this, and things like new tracks are a fun bonus, but if I cant get the original gameplay, I just have to pass unfortunately.
seems to freeze on the "gamepad reccomended" screen at the begining for me. running an amd ryzen 5700g and an amd 6600gpu

Is this remake from the ground up?
Yes, it's made in GameMaker: Studio actually. How do I know? There's a data.win file, only GameMaker: Studio Series games/apps use that.
And yes, you can mod the game if it has any mods and you have xdelta patcher!(just like pt)

yo the game is cool af, but I have a problem that does not let me play
I accidently assign all the keybinds to one key (a), and when i press a the game crashes.
I attempted to reinstall the game but i know that the config file is in some weird folder like appdata.
Where i can find it so i can delete it?

Out of curiosity do you have the source uploaded anywhere? It's fine if it isn't, but if it is, I would like to poke around in it cause I really love this project.

Jokes aside, I love this game ever since I was a kid. You are a goddamn legend.
This is a top class recreation and really enjoyed playing, would recommend to anyone looking for a polished recreation of a retro classsic.
Only bug I found was after finishing a time-trial on Donut Plains, you could still hear the 'wrong way' sound effect occasionally playing.
